Middle Flint Behavioral HealthCare Code of Ethical Behavior Middle Flint Behavioral HealthCare has an ethical responsibility to individuals and families we serve and to our community. Employees of Middle Flint Behavioral HealthCare who are under the umbrella of a regulatory or licensing body shall abide by the Code or Principals of Ethics of that organization or profession. Additionally, all employees agree to act in a responsible manner and; therefore, adopt the following Code of Ethical Behavior:
An Employee of Middle Flint Behavioral HealthCare Will,
Place the welfare and safety of consumers and their families in matters affecting them above all other concerns .
Provide services to consumers in such a way as to ensure that each person is accorded dignity as an individual, is treated with respect and is afforded his or her constitutional, civil, political, personal and property rights as appropriate.
Provide treatment without regard to race, creed, color, sex, religion, national origin, or ability to pay.
Recognize the right of consumers to their values and beliefs, as well as cultural, religious and ethnic perspectives.
Strive to provide the highest quality of care to those most in need, and to take a leadership role in promoting excellence in health care in our community.
Urge changes in the lives of our consumers only in the interest of promoting recovery and enhancing their welfare.
Defend both the spirit and the letter of policy on consumer rights and responsibilities, and to respect the rights and views of other professionals and employees.
Treat as confidential and privileged information any clinical data and information relating to consumer care in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, and laws.
Work closely with families and significant others to keep them informed and educated about consumers’ needs, in a manner that is consistent with professional and legal requirements for confidentiality.
Assure protection of the rights of our consumers and to take appropriate action against anyone guilty of consumer abuse or neglect.
Exhibit responsible concern for the well being of professionals, peers, and the agency’s communityby addressing manifestations of illness or unethical conduct in colleagues.
Operate as an equal employer and employ competent staff without regard to race, creed, color, sex, religion, or national origin.
Accept responsibility for continuing education and professional employee development as part of our commitment to providing quality consumer care in a safe and sanitary environment.
Promote a working relationship with other providers and health care facilities to ensure continuity of care and services when referral is appropriate.
Remain aware of personal skills and limitations. Be willing to recognize when it is in the best interest of consumers to be released or refer them to another program or professional.
Legally bill consumers and collect for services, based on ability to pay according to the provisions of the Cost of Care Act, OCGA 37-9. back to top of page back to Homepage |
